The Lincoln Library Press Recruits Advisory Panel

Input from librarians is essential for new edition of Lincoln Library of Essential Information

Cleveland, Ohio, January 5, 2004

In early 2003, The Lincoln Library Press of Cleveland, Ohio, asked more than 50 librarians from across the country join a panel of Editorial Advisors. Their task? To help define what is essential in a reference work for the twenty-first century. The advisors spoke, and their list of features—unique content, well-qualified contributors, easy-to-use format, indexes, all from a reputable publisher—helped shape the next editions of the widely held Lincoln Library Press titles scheduled for publication in 2004.

The Lincoln Library titles are included in the reference collections of thousands of school, college, public, and special libraries. In 2004, The Lincoln Library Press will publish fully revised new editions of two perennial favorites—Lincoln Library of Essential Information and Lincoln Library of Sports Champions. The Editorial Advisors, along with dozens of contributors, played a key role in the content and design of the new editions.
